Who could survive without their morning cup of joe? Most people can’t live without it. Drinking coffee helps us wake up and get through the day. Aside from being delicious, it has some health benefits that may benefit your mental and physical well-being.

With approximately 2.25 billion cups of coffee consumed each day, coffee is the world’s favorite hot drink. As a coffee drinker, Voltaire consumed up to 50 cups per day and lived to 83. So, coffee addiction may not be all that bad.

Here are some of the great benefits you can get from coffee.

Taking coffee could prolong your life
Several conditions, including heart disease, might be lower by three cups of coffee per day, according to research published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

There are, however, some unknowns regarding coffee’s aging effects, and they should conduct further studies to understand their precise mechanisms.

It may boost your energy levels
Caffeine is a stimulant found in coffee. When you drink caffeinated coffee, you can stimulate your nervous system; it handles virtually all functions of your brain and body.

According to a study found in the National Library of Medicine, caffeine consumption may increase alertness, reaction time, and vigilance.

You might relieve pain with coffee
Drinking coffee before working on an office task that involves a computer can be a powerful pain reliever, according to US scientists from the National Institute of Occupational Health.

If that weren’t enough, about two cups of coffee can actually reduce muscle pain by up to 48%, according to JPain.org.

You Are More Likely To Avoid Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia
Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most prevalent neurodegenerative diseases and a significant cause of dementia worldwide.

It is most common in older adults and has no known cure.

As a preventative measure, however, you can take several steps to avoid contracting the disease.

Besides healthy eating and exercise, drinking coffee may have incredible benefits.

Several studies found in the Wiley Online Library prove that coffee drinkers have up to a 65% reduced risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

Coffee may reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes
Researchers on health.com found that drinking coffee may lower the risk of type 2 diabetes in a 2018 meta-analysis of 30 previously published studies in the National Library of Medicine.

A study found a 6% decrease in risk of developing the disease for every cup of coffee consumed per day. They put several possible explanations forth, including coffee’s anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects, its ability to boost fat burn, and its impact on the composition and diversity of health-protective microbes living in the gut.

You can benefit from coffee’s heart-health benefits
Research suggests that coffee may help your heart age well, mainly since flavored syrups and artificial creamers are detrimental to your cardiovascular health.

People who drink three to five cups of coffee per day have a more significant reduction in the risk of coronary heart disease and heart attacks, according to a study published in the journal Heart in 2015.

You should steer clear of unfiltered coffee if you want to protect your heart. Research suggests that it can elevate LDL cholesterol, which is terrible for your heart.

Coffee may help relieve headaches
Although you likely experienced caffeine withdrawal and have headaches, as a result, coffee can also soothe them. Caffeine narrows the blood vessels and reduces blood flow, which relieves the throbbing headache you have in your head, according to the National Headache Foundation.

Coffee contains several compounds other than caffeine, and there are many ways to prepare and drink it. Therefore, it is difficult to know how coffee affects each individual and what its benefits and dangers are.

If you wish to get health benefits from coffee, it would be best to limit the amount you consume daily and watch what you add, such as sugar, cream, or flavorings, as these may contain unhealthy ingredients.
