Technology is dynamic and so are humans. People are changing fast and their desires, tastes, and preferences are moving forward into the future. However, the past has some truly unforgettable events that changed the world for the better. Among these unforgettable events are movies that stood the test of time. They have been among us forever and still, we talk about them, challenge them and criticize them as if they came out yesterday.

Years ago technology application, especially in movies, wasn’t very complex but the ideas and inventions that were depicted in movies such as Back to the Future, are still just as relevant today! We all will still want a hoverboard and time machine!  The science fiction writers and moviemakers who take us under their wing using technology – still mesmerize the masses, think Avatar.

Even today movies continue to amaze us as they take us out of this world or into entirely new ones. However, some older movies are still just as popular as they once were, and for good reason.  With that said, here are the top hi-tech movies of all time that we still quote, reenact, and ultimately find mind-blowing to this day.

The matrix (1999)
This movie has had a huge impact on society since 1999. The technology used in this movie explores the life we live. It is a life full of illusion. The movie exposes how a computer simulation can make people salient and docile. The Matrix movie generated much of the current science we see today. Some of these include; bullet time, video games, novels, and wall running. The movie was purely imaginative and creatively written but in the end when someone says blue pill or red pill? We all know what they are referring to, no matter how old we are.

A Clockwork Orange (1971)
This movie was a breakthrough science fiction film that definitely made its impact. A Clockwork Orange is a movie that was directed by Stanley Kubrick and is a prediction of the future lifestyle in Britain. It highlights issues around violence, psychiatry, Juvenile delinquency, political, social, and economic segregations in the society. Youth gang issues in neighborhoods are the main focus of the movie and many of the issues depicted throughout are still relevant to this day.

Alex (the main character in the movie) is antisocial, charismatic, with an interest in classical music. He is a leader of a small gang in the neighborhood, they commit erroneous acts like theft and sometimes ultra-violent crimes. Despite this movie being heavily criticized, it went viral in the early 1990s and received many awards from different countries including the latest award in 2020 in the US as being the movie that is “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”

Avatar (2009)
This movie is set in the future of the 22nd century where humans are on the move to colonize another star. Pandora had become a habitable moon, but unlike their original habitat, Pandora had a valuable mineral (gas). The invasion brings pressure to the locals forcing them outside Pandora. According to Cameron, the director, and producer of the movie, it was supposed to be released in 1997, but due to lack of the required technology at the time, the movie was postponed up to 2009 when the technology was right for the movie to be released.

A Space Odyssey (1968)
This movie was also produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick, however, this time around the legendary filmmaker was in the company of Arthur C. Clarke. They were inspired by “the sentinel ”, a short story at the time. The movie depicts an African country where a hominid tribe has invaded the other tribe’s way of life. The alien appears in their midst, and they have to be strong enough to fight back and protect their newly acquired territory. They later discover how to use a borne as a weapon.
